They used fatter slides due to slide breakages and added the Hex pin cause the aluminium frames were breaking up as well with use. Mine was made on February 77 ( 2/77 ) and refurbished in August 82 ( W8.82 ) Internally it was almost brand new, hardly used. 2 mags, one marked P38 and one marked P1. They were refurbished from the army and supplied with a holster and cleaning kit. This is one of many Bundeswehr surplus guns issued to the civilian market. I have the cheaper, '77 Post war P1 ( fat slide ), but has matching numbers and the Hex Pin from factory ( not a retro fitted one like they used to do to early P1's ).
